British Airways - HIgh Life Cover

I Was Recently asked to produce an illustrated cover for the June Issue of British Airways in flight magazine High Life. The brief was to reproduce an escher style illo with winding stairways, doors and bridges, including points of interest and characters which relate to the theme of 'The Walking Issue'

A solid brief, so here are a couple of my roughs that didnt make the grade, and the final Cover which used an edited version of an old illustration i did.

The Nice chaps at Influx magazine asked me to draw some Ford Mustangs for their latest issue celebrating Ford and the Mustang Shelby GT500.

The guys let me loose on the Old Beast and i created this Speedy 'stang plowing forth with his predecessors biting the dust.

A month or so ago i worked with design agency Front in Sheffield to produce an animated, interactve map For EnjoyEngland.com. To Coincide with the release of the new Robin Hood film, the map is a guide for tourists seeking the best in the historical Myths & Legends of England, there is also a Map of Nottingham for those die hard Robin Hood fans.
I drew up all the map components from Backgrounds and Characters to logo,Scrolls and buttons.

Quite a long process doing all the fiddly bits but great to see it come together.

This month sees the release of Francis Ford Coppola's new effort, 'Tetro'. So Britains best Film Mag Little White Lies decided to dedicate their latest issue to the film.

The whole mag is in Black and White and the kind fellows of LWL asked if i wanted to illustrate the back section. I have some good illustrations stretching over the entire back section of the magazine.

So today saw the launch of David Mitchell's new book,
'The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet'. This is set to be a mega smash so i would advise buying one, not
only because the cover is good aswell.
I worked closely with Hodder & Stoughton, to produce this rich, japanese influenced book jacket. This is pretty much all over bookshops at the minute, as is david in the press, so i doubt you will miss it.

Young Guns and Old Cannons at Somerset House

As part of the Somerset House Graphic Art Fair 'Pick Me Up', from the 23 April-3rd May Print club London are reconstructing their Dalston Studio In Somerset House.

Over the course of the fair, Print Club London and Somerset House are inviting some of their favourite designers to print a poster live in their workshop.

Print club are pairing up some younger illustrators and designers with more experienced Pros of the industry to print limited edition posters together.

The posters will then be available for sale on that day in limited editions of 50 for £50 each.

I am printing my poster alongside Morag Myerscough on the 1st MAy 2010 which should be great fun. So Come down and point and laugh.

For the past couple of months i've been working with Decoy.tv to produce a promotional poster for them.
It's going to be a mega 24X36 inch Screenprint. 2 colours on tan paper in 2 different Variations.
A Green/Brown and an Orange/Brown. Printed by D&L Screenprinting in Washington.

For those of you who dont know, Decoy is the pseudonym of Seattle based motion designer, Ryan Rothermel.

I finally received my copy of The Yards new album Imperial Measures last week.
I had designed the entire album package cover to cover including the 8 page inlay.
Really pleased with the way it looks (although this colour combination appears to be totally down to the computer, the real version is different) and a superb print job from Clear Sound and Vision.

Thanks to Chris and Jon of The Yards for entrusting me to realise a vision 2 years in the making. The long awaited 2nd album from The Yards is released on March 21st on their own Industrial Erotica Records.

I was commissioned by Margaret London to paint a cubicle for the opening of the new 'Queen Of Hoxton' club at the bottom of Curtain Road.
These are some of the pics of what i did that day. Think it turned out well in the end, the other cubicles are good too, and theres a whole Pure Evil room amongst many other things. Its open now so worth going to check it all out.

This is something i did for a project commemorating 60 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
I was invited to draw a little something to go on a miniature protest board, so thats what i did.

This Coming Friday 10th Oct sees the opening of a show i am involved in called STUMP.
At The Horse Hospital, Bloomsbury.

There are three artists involved: Joe Wilson, Carlo Keshishian, and Maurice Burns.
It looks like it will be an interesting experience.

My T-Shirt finally arrived in Topshop stores this monday. I spent two long evenings in store in Oxford street and Manchester Arndale Centre, creating hand painted wall illustrations for the 'Illustreight' exhibition.
The T-shirts are available in selected stores across the country, or alternatively you can get them online.

There were 8 great artists involved each doing their thing on the walls of the Oxford Street store.
I drew a giant green bird made from tiny leaves which took too long to mention. More pictures of this can be seen here:

The T-Shirt project i have been working on for Topshop will see its long awaited launch this coming monday, 25th August!!
Myself and 7 other artists have created a limited edition ladies T-Shirt collection for Topshop along with a wall painted exhibition in the Oxford Street and Manchester Arndale stores.

There are 8 great artists involved and it will be well worth coming down to pick up a shirt and check out the amazing wall painting skills. Its a bank holiday so there are no excuses!
The Shirts will also be available online from the 25th August.
I will post images as soon as i get back from the all night paint sessions.
